About the Role

The overview.

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Pixel Artist to join our studio and help shape the visual identity of our games. You’ll work closely with designers and developers to create characters, environments, creatures, objects, animations, and other visual assets that bring our worlds to life.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality pixel art for characters, environments, props, UI elements, and other game assets.
  • Create 2D animations, effects, and sprite sheets.
  • Develop and maintain consistent visual styles across game projects.
  • Collaborate with game designers and developers to translate ideas into compelling visuals.
  • Iterate on artwork based on feedback while maintaining artistic consistency.
  • Optimize assets for performance and implementation within the game engine.
  • Contribute ideas to the visual direction and overall art style of projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong pixel art portfolio demonstrating your artistic ability.
  • Proficiency with pixel-art tools such as Aseprite, Photoshop, or equivalent software.
  • Strong understanding of color, composition, lighting, perspective, and anatomy.
  • Ability to create artwork that remains visually clear and appealing at small resolutions.
  • Understanding of pixel-art animation and sprite-sheet workflows.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Passion for games and a strong attention to detail.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating art for commercial games.
  • Experience with Unity or another game engine.
  • Experience with 2D character animation.
  • Experience creating tilesets, environmental assets, or VFX.
  • Familiarity with RPG, strategy, MMORPG, or sandbox games.
  • Ability to work across multiple pixel-art styles.
  • Basic understanding of game-development pipelines and asset implementation.
  • Experience collaborating with remote development teams.
