About the Role

The overview.

We're looking for a 3D environment artist to help shape the visual identity of FOB — modular kits, hero props, and dressed scenes that read clearly under low-light survival gameplay.

This is contract work priced per-asset or hourly, with the potential to expand into ongoing work as the game grows.

Responsibilities

  • Model and texture environment assets — architecture, terrain features, props.
  • Build modular kits that level designers can rearrange without breaking scale or shading.
  • Optimize meshes and materials for real-time performance in Unity.
  • Assist with light/atmosphere direction on hero scenes.

What We're Looking For

  • Portfolio showing strong environment or prop work in a game engine.
  • Blender or Maya proficiency.
  • Comfortable with PBR texturing (Substance Painter or equivalent).
  • Understanding of budgets — polycount, texture memory, draw calls.

Nice to Have

  • Unity import pipeline experience.
  • Substance Designer / procedural texturing.
  • Trim sheet / modular kit workflows.
  • Interest in survival, post-apocalyptic, or grounded-realism aesthetics.

What You Get

  • Contract pay per asset or per hour — your choice.
  • Full credit in the game and marketing materials.
  • Assets you build become part of your portfolio.
  • Flexible timeline — deadlines set by mutual agreement.
